Mario and I have been meeting once or twice a week for the past four months. He’s a Peruvian with a strong work ethic and his first child on the way. Mario is a young believer and is soaking up everything I can teach him about Jesus and this Kingdom way of life.Unfortunately, Mario blew out his knee playing soccer and had to get knee surgery. John White and Hugh Brandt will be facilitating training for anyone who is leading or planning to lead a simple church. We will be meeting for the next three Monday evenings - April 13, 20, 27 from 6:30-8:30 pm. Bring a sandwich and we will talk over dinner. This will be training in the Hebraic style. That is, the students determine the curriculum. So, bring the questions and issues that you want to talk about relating to leadership. Email John for directions: DenverWH@aol.com

Awhile ago I stumbled upon the book Walking on Water: Reflections on Faith and Art, by Madeleine L’Engle. I couldn’t put this book down. In her thoughtfully provocative way, L’Engle questions the ways we as a society look at art and faith, and more specifically literature. A few days after deciding upon the book, Madeleine L’Engle passed away. Her words will continually challenge and inspire readers in their journey of discovering faith.
